Located about 150km east of Saigon, Cat Tien National Park (Nam Cat Tien commune, Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province) is separated from the surrounding area by the Dong Nai river. If you are a nature lover, interested in exploring the natural flora and fauna, Cat Tien National Park is an ideal destination that has been recognized by UNESCO as the World Biosphere Reserve. The main campus consists of many guesthouses with prices range from 300,000 - 400,000 VND / night. Rooms are designed quite simple but still comfortable.

Cat Tien Ecotourism

With relatively flat terrain, two thirds of the park is surrounded by Dong Nai River, so the climate is quite cool, the forest still retains wild features with many precious wood species. This is also home to many wild and semi-wild animals: bears, monkeys, wild chickens, deer, weasels, wild pigs ... and the paradise of birds such as green peafowl.

Travel to Cat Tien, it is possible to select ecotourism routes:

- Discover the botanical garden with more than 300 species of precious wood, many of which are endemic to the Southeast region of Vietnam.

- Watch wildlife at night: you can rent a bike or walk along the main road to see many animals such as wild boar, deer, porcupine, gaur, mink who just appear at night.

- Visit Ta Lai where ethnic minority communities like Ma, Tay and S’tieng habitat and explore the daily life of local people.

It is more interesting to visit Bau Sau, rather far from the center of the park. You may have to travel by car about 9km, then walk 5 more kilometers to get to this place. Bau Sau is a large lake with many birds and crocodiles living. Coming here, you will admire the dances of the peacock and immerse in the poetic scenes.

If you love adventure, choose the tour itinerary of trekking through the forest. The interesting thing is that you will be able to see the whole junglefowl family, or colorful birds roaming the forest, flying around when they see human. However, these walking routes are recommended for experienced visitors only.

About 15km from the park center, you can explore a quite interesting road to admire the 400 year old weeping fig, height of more than 8m, bending itself on the water and it is difficult to determine where the main body . Very impressive and heroic. In addition, there are many other interesting tourist routes: skyfall, long house in Ta Lai, white hill, and bat cave.

+ Cat Tien National Park is a biosphere reserve, so it is strictly prohibited to catch and exploit plants and animals, so leave only footprints, and do not take anything but photographs.

+ The forest has many squirrels and other reptiles (snakes, centipede), you should be prepared enough necessary protection equipment such as specialized trekking shoes, leggings, gloves, accompanied by several medicine.

+ Follow the guidance of the national park staff, avoid going to areas with many dangerous animals such as bear, gaur, rhinoceros.
